Donna Jean (Sladky) Shine, 72, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July… Donna Jean (Sladky) Shine, 72, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 8, 2007.

Born on May 4, 1935, in Adah, Fayette County, Pa., she was the daughter of Frank Sladky and Aniela (Radlosky) Sladky.

Donna graduated from the former German Township High School, Class of 1953, in McClellandtown, Pa., where she was an Honor Student and Homecoming Queen.

She had attended Saint Mary (Our Lady of Perpetual. Help) Grade School in Leckrone, Pennsylvania.

Donna married William L. Shine on November 13, 1954, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone.

Over the years, she had been employed with Klondike Finance, Masontown, Pa., ABC Loans, Uniontown, Pa., and Fayette Bank, Uniontown, Pa., where she retired as a Human Resources Director.

She had also been a District Manager with Avon.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo, card club, tending her flower gardens, and, above all else, spoiling her children and granddaughters!

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ronald Sladky, and a nephew, Timothy Podlogar.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, William L. Shine; three children: William Alan Shine and his wife, Frances A. Shine, of Dillsburg, Pa., Craig Michael Shine, and Alisa Ann Shine and her husband, Kirk Hoffman, of York, Pa.; two granddaughters: Emilee E. Shine and Olivia A. Shine both of Dillsburg, Pa.; sister, Phyllis Sladky Podlogar and her husband, Tony Podlogar, of Uniontown, Pa.; and six nieces and nephews: Cindy Brown, Anna Marie Boera, Edward Shine, Deanna Kovacevic, Ronald G. Sladky and Anthony Podlogar Jr.

Family will receive friends in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, July 12, 2007, until 11:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon in Saint Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa., with the Rev. Father Donald R. Trexler as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pennsylvania.
