Man, woman found dead in Indian Head
SALTLICK TWP. – A man and a woman were found shot to death in their Connor Road residence Wednesday night.
Officials on scene said it’s believed the unidentified man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. At least two children were also in the residence when the shooting occurred, but were not injured, officials said.
Family members and neighbors gathered outside the residence as state police conducted interviews and collected forensic evidence.
Neighbors said the couple and their children had moved into the residence last summer and were a quiet family.
It was not immediately clear if the man and woman were married.
C.M. Meyers of 116 Connor Road, who lives next to the house where the shooting happened, said the Indian Head community is normally quiet.
“I’ve never heard of anything like this happening here before,” he said.
Meyers said he didn’t know the family well, noting that they kept to themselves.
“They did their thing and I did mine,” he said, noting that he never noticed any problems at the home.
Susan Dugan, who lives across a grassy field on Indian Head Road, said she spoke to the couple once shortly after they moved in.
“They seemed nice,” she said. “They had a yard sale and they had a small dirt bike for sale. I stopped and talked to them.”
Dugan said a young boy and girl lived in the house, adding that the boy went to school with her 9-year-old daughter.
The boy is said to be about 8 years old and the girl a year old.
Dugan said her family set off fireworks for the Fourth of July and that the couple and their children sat in the front yard of their Connor Road residence and watched them.
“Everything seemed fine,” she said.
Family members of the deceased declined comment Wednesday night. The victim’s identities were not released as of deadline.
