Charles J. “Chuggie” DeMarco, 86, of Connellsville, Pa., died July 19, 2007, in Harmon House, Mount Pleasant.
He was born… Charles J. “Chuggie” DeMarco, 86, of Connellsville, Pa., died July 19, 2007, in Harmon House, Mount Pleasant.
He was born December 29, 1920, in Connell-sville, a son of the late Samuel and Carmela Panzella DeMarco.
He was a member of Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Chuggie was co-owner and operator of DeMarco’s Bar and DeMarco’s Nursery along with his brother Francis.He was a World War II US navy Veteran having served throughout the South Pacific.
He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Elks Lodge 503, F.O. Eagles 493, and VFW Post 21.
Chuggie is survived by one son, David DeMarco and wife Audrey of Connellsville; two grandsons, Lee DeMarco and wife Kara of Connellsville and Brad DeMarco and wife Dana of Greensburg; three great grandchildren, Aidan, Gianna and Anthony; three sisters, Anna Allen, Gloria Balcerek and Delores Jones and husband John; a sister-in-law, Rose DeMarco and friend Betty Henderson.
In addition to his parents, Chuggie was predeceased by his wife Edna (Moreland) DeMarco, an infant grandson, a brother, Francis DeMarco and one sister, Madeline “Dolly” Genovese.
At the request of Chuggie, there will be no public viewing.
Friends and relatives can attend a Memorial Mass at Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Ron Cyktor officiating.
Interment will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, Connellsville.
