GREENSBURG – The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill announce the hiring of Kary Coleman as the director of the annual fund. As part of the Institutional Advancement Department for the United States Province, Coleman is responsible for the success of all annual programs, including direct mail, special events, gift acknowledgement, donor recognition, and stewardship.
“I am pleased to be working with the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. As an alumna of Seton Hill University, I am well acquainted with the mission and vision of the Sisters of Charity and want to direct a fund development plan that will meet the needs of the sisters and their work,” said Coleman, who is also a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School.
Coleman, who earned a B.A. in communication and information arts from Seton Hill University and an M.A. in communication studies from California University of Pennsylvania, has more than seven years of experience in the development field, including annual fund administration, public relations, special event management, and grant writing.
Prior to working for the Sisters of Charity, she was employed by the Mount Lebanon School District as the athletic development director where she oversaw the annual fund and alumni association, administered the athletic department Web site, and coordinated special events. Coleman began working in the development field as a Senior Development Consultant with Fayette County Community Action Agency in Uniontown.
Coleman is also active in the community, serving on the Seton Hill Alumni Corporation Board as the Student Relations Chairperson and as a volunteer with the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
Additionally, Coleman serves as a part-time instructor with Pennsylvania State University, The Eberly Campus, in the Communication Arts and Sciences Department.
