Elsie Victor Capanna, 91, of Masontown, Pa., died on February 27, 2007, in her home. She was born on August 18, 1915, in Haydentown, Pa., the daughter of the late Otho Rhodes Victor and the late Carrie Victor Richardson.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Laurio ‘Larry’ Capanna, sisters, Madonna Carr, Frances Gregetich, Virginia Cramer, and brothers, Edwin Victor, and William Victor.

Surviving are the following children: Lois Kish and husband, Frank of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Bonnie Capanna of Elk Grove Village, Ill., Carol Sue Glassie of Masontown, Pa., and Gloria Bowers and husband, Mark of Point Marion, Pa.; six grandchildren: Laurie Kish of Milwaukee, Wisc., Joseph Kish of Wheaton, Ill., Richard Glassie of Huntington, Ind., Cara Davis and husband, Greg of Watsonville, Calif., Michele Jacobs and husband, Jason of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Brian Bowers and wife, Jennifer of North Plainfield, N.J.; seven great-grandchildren: Maecee Glassie of Huntington, Ind., Caroline Jacobs and Mark Jacobs of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Victor Davis, Tug Davis, Austyn Davis, and Will Davis of Watsonville, Clif.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mildred Mayhle of Seattle, Wash., Iona Mullen of Fairchance, Pa., Grace Kluska and husband, Frank of Willowick, Ohio, Clifford Victor and wife, Gail of Smithfield, Pa., Robert Victor of North Olmstead, Ohio; and the following in-laws: Floyd Gregetich of North Olmstead, Ohio, Kay Victor of Smithfield, Pa., and Doris Victor of Upperco, Md.

Elsie was a protestant by faith and a member of the Masontown United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR., FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Church and River Avenue, Masontown, on Friday, March 2, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 3, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m., when funeral service will be held at the Masontown United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Lewis officiating.

Interment will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Masontown United Methodist Church.
