North Union man pleads guilty to drug charges
A North Union Township man allegedly found with drugs and explosives on the day a probation officer was to remove his ankle monitor has waived his preliminary hearing and agreed to plead guilty. Attorney Thomas W. Shaffer, who represents Chad Glisan, 54, of 254 Filmore St. confirmed Thursday that Fayette County prosecutors offered his client a 9- to 24-month state prison term and Glisan accepted
Glisan was charged earlier this month with two counts each of possession and possession with the intent to deliver drugs and one count of possession of weapons of mass destruction.
Authorities alleged that explosives and drugs were found at Glisan’s home and at his Menallen Township workplace in December.
An adult probation officer there to remove Glisan’s ankle monitor for an unrelated criminal case found him with individually wrapped bags of marijuana at his workplace. More marijuana, a digital scale and more than $2,000 in cash was seized from his home, police said.
Along with that, police also took a plastic container with components and empty cartridges used to manufacture explosives.
The charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr.
