Man jailed in connection with baby’s injuries

By The 1 min read

A Uniontown man has been charged with endangering the welfare of children as the alleged caretaker of a 3-month-old baby now suffering from critical injuries. State police said James Ray Morrison, 27, of 202 Woodview Terrace was jailed in Fayette County Prison after Fayette County Children and Youth Services (CYS), the county’s agency to protect children from abuse and neglect, was advised Friday that 3-month-old Seanna Schrock was at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for injuries that occurred Thursday.

Morrison was identified as the caretaker of the child at the time of the incident, which occurred at Morrison’s home between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Thursday, according to investigating officer, trooper David Bell.

Morrison also was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis. He was jailed on $100,000.

Police listed the child as residing in Lemont Furnace.

Neither the investigating officer nor the district magistrate’s office could be reached Saturday for further details. A Children’s Hospital spokesman declined to provide further information, including Schrock’s condition because CYS is involved.
