Martha E. Donaldson Cleaver McArdle, L.P.N., age 90, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2007.

She was born October 2, 1916, in Oliphant Furnace, Pa., the daughter of Howard Donaldson and Ella Dougherty Donaldson.

Mrs. McArdle was formerly employed as a nurse at LaFayette Manor.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, James R. McArdle, a son, James Cleaver, and an infant daughter, Kathryn Cleaver.

Surviving are eight children: Harold “Sonny” Cleaver and his wife, Edith, of Uniontown, Pa., June Myers and her husband, Rod, of Lebanon, Illinois, Gerald Cleaver and his wife, Joan, of Farmington, Pa., Lawrence Cleaver and his wife, Shirley, of Ohio, Richard Cleaver and his wife, Arlene, of Markleysburg, Pa., Janet Lowden and her husband, Gary, of Connellsville, Pa., Karen Furst of Harrisburg, Pa., and Diana L. Brenzy and her husband, Richard, of Uniontown, Pa.; twenty-one grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Donna Smith and her husband, William, of Hopwood, Pa., and Irene Lynn of Brook Park, Ohio; and a brother, Thomas Donaldson and his wife, Joy, of Oliphant Furnace, Pa.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 7, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Roland M. O’Brien officiating.

Private interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
