Body found

The body of a local man who had been missing for several days was found in the Bobtown area Tuesday.

Officials said the body of a 36-year-old Greensboro man was found around 5 p.m. in a wooded area. The man was last seen leaving his residence around 6 a.m. Saturday, officials said.

State police confirmed the body had been found but said no information was yet being released. The incident, according to police, is under investigation. No other information was available as of deadline Wednesday.

CALIFORNIA

Man charged

Richard Simmons, 37, of McClellandtown was charged with three counts of possession of controlled substances, driving while under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding police and several other traffic violations after he allegedly fled police in his vehicle following a routine traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue at 12:56 a.m. Jan. 3, California police said. Police chased Simmons for several blocks to Boulder Street where Simmons exited his vehicle and attempted to run from officers but was caught in a wooded area nearby, police said.

Connellsville

Charges filed

Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:

– Carla Darrell, 30, of Connellsville, with harassment after she allegedly struck an unidentified female on Feb. 24 during an incident in the 300 block of East Crawford Avenue.

– Daniel J. Stolz, 26, of Connellsville, with two counts each of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct stemming from a Feb. 24 and 25 incident in the 200 block of South Prospect Street when he was allegedly found to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

– Robert Sparks, 21, of Connellsville, with harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly struck an unidentified male during a Feb. 25 incident in the 1100 block of South Pittsburgh Street.

South Union Twp.

Theft reported

State police said that diesel fuel and related items were stolen from a TMC Transportation truck tractor parked on Matthew Drive between Feb. 24 and 26.

Wharton Twp.

Accident reported

State police said Logan Williams, 17, sustained a minor injury when he hit a tree along Route 381 around 7:20 a.m. last Thursday.

Connellsville

Investigations continue

Police are investigating the following unrelated incidents:

– A Feb. 28 burglary when someone entered a residence located in the 100 block of East South Street and stole items.

– A Feb. 26 retail theft when someone entered Atkin’s Music Store and stole a guitar.

– A Feb. 28 theft of unidentified items from a vacant residence located in the 600 block of Blackstone Road.

– A March 1 criminal mischief when someone broke a window of a residence in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
