Rev. George W. Rath, Jr.
Rev. George W. Rath, Jr., 86, of Everson and former pastor of the Dawson Baptist Church died Wednesday, March 7, 2007. He had previously been employed by Robertshaw Controls of New Stanton. George and his wife owned and operated Rath’s Grocery Store.
He served as Chaplin for the Scottdale Senior Citizens Organization.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughters: Georgiana Rath Hallam and husband, Ronald of Mount Pleasant, Catherine Rath Thomas and husband, Al of Scottdale; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Kerry Rath and wife, Jane of Mount Pleasant; step sister, Marjorie Rice of Everson, nieces and nephews.
Family will be received in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home Inc., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.
