Ethel Florence Firestone Wable
Ethel Florence (Firestone) Wable, age 100, of Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, in the Meyersdale Medical Center. Born October 19, 1906, in Markleton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Curtis and Isabel (Williams) Firestone.
Ethel was a retired restaurant cook, homemaker, and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Hill, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Analda Eugene “Jack” Wable, and three daughters, Mary Alice Durst, Berdella Fike and Virginia Ruth Wable.
Surviving are three daughters: Margaret M. Carr, Fairchance, Pennsylvania, Shirley A. Vance, Elkins, West Virginia, and Sarah Jane Artice, Meyersdale; 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 44 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEWMAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, PA 15558 (301-662-2788) where Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nevin Umbel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
