Results from the recent livestock auctions and crop sales in the region were as follows: —

The Pennsylvania Livestock Market Report for Waynesburg for Mar. 8 is as follows:

CATTLE:

STOCK COWS: 45 to 58.50.

SLAUGHTER COWS: Utility and commercial, 46.50 to 56.50; boner and boning utility, 42 to 46; cutter and boning utility, 39 to 46; canner and low cutter, 37 to 43.50; shells, 37 down.

BULLS: Yield grade 1, 1,500-2,000 pounds, 48 to 69.50; grade 2, 1,000-1,400 pounds, 50 to 68.50.

FEEDER STEERS: Medium and light, 1, 300-500 pounds, 85 to 112; 250-280 pounds, 90 to 124; 600-900 pounds, 70 to 110.

HEIFERS: Medium and light, 1, 300-500 pounds, 80-112; light 1, 400-650 pounds, 70 to 91.

BULLS: Medium and light, 1, 300-620 pounds, 70 to 106.

CALVES: Veal…prime, 70-100; choice, 60-84; good, 40-84.

FARM CALVES: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 90-120 pounds, few, 65-135; No. 2, 80-100 pounds, few, 50-85.Beef – Bulls and heifers/head, 35-155.

HOGS: Barrows and gilts, 1-2, 210-255 pounds, 41 to 54.50; 2-3, 255-280 pounds, 50-61.50. Sows, 1-3 300-500 pounds, 24-50.

FEEDER PIGS: 1-3, 15-20 pounds, 12 to 28/head; 1-3, 25-35 pounds, 15 to 46/head.

LAMBS: High choice, 80-100 pounds, 45 to 122; choice, 40-75 pounds, 75-122 Feeder lambs, good, 50-100; sheep, 28-48; fat sheep, 19.50-25.50.

GOATS: Large, 65 to 95/head; medium, 50 to 65/head; small, 8 to 41/head.

HORSES: Horses, 20 to 53; ponies, 20 to 42.

Eighty Four Livestock Auction held in Eighty Four on March 5, results were:

CATTLE: 234…(PDA) slaughter cows were .50-1 lower

STEERS: Select 1-2 , one 75; standard 1-20 one 69.

HOLSTEIN STEERS: Select 1-2, 60.50-68.50.

HEIFERS: Standard 1-2 few 60.50-64.

COWS: Breakers, 75-80 percent lean, 51-57. Boners, 80-85 percent lean, 45.50-51. Lean, 85-90 percent lean, 41-45. Shells, 40 and down.

BULLS: Yield Grade 1, 1,175-1,955 pounds 58.50-64. Yield Grade 2, 1160-2010 pounds 55-57.

FEEDER CATTLE

STEERS: Medium and large 2, 255-475 pounds, 87.50-98; 635-856 pounds, 79-88. HEIFERS: Medium and Large 1, 483-790 pounds 81-98. Couple Medium and Large 2, 205 and 310 pounds 95 & 100. Couple medium and large 3, 510 and 580 pounds, 56-69.

BULLS: Medium and large 1, 255-480 pounds, 109-131; 520-590 pounds, 100-105; 680-700 pounds, 85-89. Medium and large 2, 450-645 pounds, 79-88; one 97; 715-815 pounds, 72-75. Medium and large 3, 185-430 pounds, 70-87.50; few 535-615 pounds, 52-72.

CALVES 126…(calves sold per hundredweight) Holstein bulls were mostly 15 higher, 60 percent veal barns, Holstein heifers sold steady.

VEALERS: Standard and good, 75-120 pounds, 55-75; utility, 49-110 pounds, 27.50-50.

FARM CALVES: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 85-120 pounds, 105-117.50, few to 125; No. 2, 85-125 pounds, 85-105, few to 110; couple No. 1 Holstein heifers 100 & 105 pounds, 425 and 430, No. 2 65-100 pounds, 85-325. Beef cross bulls and heifers, 70-125 pounds, 80-230.

HOGS: 21

BARROWS and GILTS: one 49-54 percent lean, 255 pounds, 54, 40-45 percent lean 235-285 pounds 49-51, 40-45 percent lean, 205-285 pounds 46-48.

SOWS: 1-3, 310-440 pounds 38-43; couple 515 & 560 pounds 30 & 33, one Medium 315 pounds 27.

FEEDER PIGS: No market test.

SHEEP: 53 Slaughter lambs sold steady to firm.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS: Choice, 65-80 pounds, 120-130; 85-105 pounds, 100-116, one Good and choice 30 pounds 115.

SLAUGHTER SHEEP: 26-40, Yearlings 55-77.50.

GOATS: 25 (sold by the head).

KIDS: Selection 2, 63-73 pounds, 79-85. Selection 3, 50-60 pounds, 65-72, 70-83 pounds 85-90.

BILLIES: 57.50-72.50.
