Darrell D. Divil
Darrell D. Divil, 79 years, of Smithfield, Pa., died Friday, March 9, 2007, in his home with his wife by his side. He was born November 3, 1927, in Dilliner, Pa., the son of Clarence Divil and Ethelyn Stoneking Divil.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force who served during World War II.
Darrell was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and furniture refinishing.
He was also employed for over 23 years as a machinist at the now former Rockwell International in Uniontown, Pa., until his retirement.
Darrell was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church at Old Frame, Pa.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Shirley Kaufman.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Duda Divil; daughter, Joyce Matty and her husband, George Matty, of Brownsville, Pa.; grandson, John E. Danko and his fianc?e, Chevonne Raincharim of Fort Hood, Texas; two great-grandchildren: Jasmine Danko and McKayla Danko, and their mother, Misty Danko, of Uniontown, Pa.; sister, Devonnah Jolly and her husband, Elwood Jolly, of Dilliner, Pa.; niece, Clarissa Eggers and her husband, Joe Eggers; and special friends, Jennie and Timothy Hutcheson of Smithfield, Pa.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, until 10 a.m., the hour of the Funeral Service with the Rev. Donald E. Walls and the Rev. Philip Elliott officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
