By The 1 min read

A 7-month-old baby in Uniontown died Monday when a teenager apparently rolled onto the child while the infant and teen were sleeping. Uniontown police Detective Jason A. Cox said Jati’yah Johnson of 84 Pershing Court was found unresponsive at the housing unit Monday morning.

Emergency room physicians pronounced the baby dead at the Uniontown Hospital at 10 a.m.

Cox said an unidentified teenage boy rolled onto the infant while they were sleeping but said the investigation into the death remains open pending autopsy results.

Fayette County Deputy Coroner Marisa Springer said a ruling in the cause and manner of death also are pending an autopsy scheduled for late Monday with Allegheny County forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht.

No further information regarding the death was available as of press time.
