An article published Saturday about a house fire in Jefferson Township quoted the fire chief in Grindstone as saying a nearby fire hydrant was not working properly. According to Bernie Liptak, president of the Jefferson Township Water Authority, new hydrants are causing problems in the area because firefighters are turning them the right direction. Liptak added that the company that manufactures the hydrants would be holding training sessions with a hydrant simulator.
