Coal trucks collide
No one was injured when two loaded coal trucks collided on Route 40 in Washington County near the Fayette County line Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews shut down the road as they worked to clear the wrecked tri-axles and the spilled coal, a Washington County 911 spokesman said.
The Washington County hazardous materials team was working to remove the coal and some diesel that also spilled on the road.
Police from Centerville and West Pike Run Township, along with firefighters from Richeyville and Denbo-Vesta 6, responded to the 2:34 p.m. crash. The road was closed for several hours, officials said.
