Dorothy J. McDowell
Dorothy J. McDowell, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully Monday, March 12, 2007, in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on August 1, 1923, in Fairchance, Pa., the daughter of the late Harry S. and Anna Catherine Lewis Dean.
She was a member of the Uniontown Elks Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde B. McDowell Sr., sisters, Thelma Laughery and Georgie Reese.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Carolyn May of Birmingham, Alabama, Clyde B. McDowell Jr. and Marilyn Spade of Hopwood, Pa., Deborah Thomas and husband William of Uniontown, Pa., and Judith Karpiak and husband Thomas of Connellsville, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Donald W. Dean and wife Fran of Hollywood, Florida; special niece, Audrey Darby of Ohio.
Friends will be received in the BARNETT-SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 680 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Art mace officiating.
Interment Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
