Milton F. ‘Dutz’ Tober
Milton F. ‘Dutz’ Tober, 80, of Connellsville, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in his residence. He was born December 19, 1926, in Connellsville, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Belle Rhue Tober.
Dutz was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He was retired from the Connellsville Police Department after attaining the rank of sergeant, and 28 years of service. He was then a contractor/driver with Intermediate One for special needs children, and then Nelson Bus Company for a total of 28 years.
Dutz was a World War II United States Navy veteran, serving throughout the Pacific. During that time he was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and Pacific Theater Ribbon.
He was a regular member of the American Legion and VFW both of Connellsville and Fraternal Order of Police. Dutz enjoyed taking walks with his wife, Alice. Going to dinner and shopping with his daughter, Linda son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Pam. Spending time with his grandchildren. His other special interests were collecting watches, ball caps, shopping at Pechins Market and playing with his pet cats, Smokey and Bandit.
‘Dutz’ is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice Kinzey Tober; a son, Gary Milton Tober and wife, Pam of Connellsville; a daughter, Linda Tober of Connellsville; grandchildren: Stephanie Tober of Connellsville, Kimberly Harbaugh and husband, David of Isabella, Puerto Rico, and Christopher Tober of Connellsville; a sister, Rosella Neckerauer of Semonole, Fla.; a special nephew, James Hines of Connellsville; nieces: Paulette Snoby of Georgia and Janet.
He was predeceased by a sister, Helen A. Hines.
Family and friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First Street, West Side Connellsville, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 10 a.m., the hour of the service with Pastor Elmer Reamer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greenridge Memorial Park.
Military Services will be held at the cemetery by members of the Connellsville Veterans Commission.
