Marie Moravitz Onisko Burns
Marie Moravitz Onisko Burns, 79, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Jefferson Regional Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa., following a short illness. She was born April 19, 1927, in Vestaburg, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary Targos Moravitz.
Mrs. Burns was Catholic by faith and was a member of the Slovak National Club in Monogahela, Pa.
She worked for many years at Johnny’s Market as a store cashier and was a homemaker.
Surviving is two sons, Michael Onisko of Franklinville, New York and John Onisko of Vestaburg, Pa.; two stepsons, Robert L. Burns Jr. of Rhode Island and Scott Burns of Charleroi, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Mindy Czika of Connecticut; five grandchildren, Michael Onisko, Aimee Onisko, Johnny Onisko, Tania Onisko and Steven Onisko; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Alyssa Slother; one sister, Margaret Berdak of Hyattsville, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her first husband Mike Onisko who died February 1974 and her second husband Robert L. Burns Sr., who died February 2004 are two brothers John and Edward Moravitz and a sister Helen Vilcheck.
At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or visitation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests donations to a charity of one’s choice.
