Man jailed

A Uniontown man was placed in Fayette County Prison after he was found in possession of a stolen gun, city police said.

James E. Pace was charged with receiving stolen property and simple assault after he was stopped by officers following an incident on Morgantown Street around 2 a.m. Friday, city police said.

In addition, police said Pace was also charged for carrying a gun without a license.

Pace, according to police, was arraigned and placed in prison after failing to post a $100,000 straight cash bond.

Man injured

John Campbell of Brownsville suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 8:34 a.m. Saturday on Hollow Road near Second Street, state police said, noting that the road was icy.

Vehicle crash

State police said no one was injured when vehicles driven by Lorraine Adamson of Brownsville and Henry Friend of Hibbs crashed on Route 40 at 5:25 p.m. Friday. Police said Adamson’s vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier and that Friend’s vehicle then crashed into Adamson’s vehicle.

Man cited

Brandon Crossland, 23, of Uniontown was cited for criminal mischief after he allegedly kicked in the front door of 38-year-old Karen Boyd’s Uniontown residence at 6:15 pm. Saturday, state police said.

Gasoline stolen

State police said $25 worth of gasoline was stolen from the Dairy Mart service station on Dixon Boulevard at 8:40 p.m. Saturday. Police said an unknown person pumped the gasoline into his or her vehicle and left without paying.

Concrete hit

Christopher A. Nemes, 29, was not injured when the vehicle he was operating struck a piece of concrete that was laying on Route 119 near Eberly Way around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Items damaged

Leslie Ann Miller of Smithfield told police someone entered her Georges Fairchance Road residence and damaged several items between 1 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30 p.m. Friday, state police reported.

North Union Twp.

Woman injured

State police said Shareace Hopkins, 30 of Chalk Hill suffered minor injuries when her vehicle overturned on Route 40 west about one mile before the runaway truck ramp at 11:29 a.m. Friday.

Police noted the road was icy and said Hopkins was taken to Uniontown Hospital by ambulance.

Both westbound travel lanes were closed briefly while the vehicle was turned upright and loaded onto the tow truck, police said.

Vehicle scratched

A vehicle belonging to Randy Lee Fisher, 21, of Farmington was scratched while parked at Kurt’s Family Restaurant between 9 and 10 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.

Attempt made

Anthony M. Danko, 30, of Smithfield told police someone attempted to break a chain at 117 Tobin School Road at 3:13 p.m. Thursday, state police reported.

Menallen Twp.

Driver cited

State police said Brian Payton of Smock was cited for failing to driving his vehicle at a safe speed after the vehicle he was operating crashed on Upper Middletown Road at 4:58 p.m. Friday. Police said Payton suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital following the crash.

Perryopolis

Juveniles charged

Borough police said a 14-year-old Perryopolis girl; two Perryopolis boys, ages 14 and 15; and a 15-year-old Dawson boy were each charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief after they allegedly vandalized a restroom at Sampey Park.

Police allege the four teens gained access to the locked woman’s bathroom around 9 p.m. March 2 and caused $319 worth of damage.

Man cited

City police said Timothy Dugan of Uniontown was cited for public drunkenness after police found him to be under the influence of alcohol while on North Gallatin Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Friday.

Warrant served

An arrest warrant from Lawrence County were served on Harold Allen Jones III, 18, of Uniontown at 11:09 p.m. Friday, city police said, noting that Jones was wanted for driving under the influence and underage drinking-related charges.

Joseph Lynch, 27, of Uniontown was cited for disorderly conduct following a traffic stop on Route 40 at 11:20 p.m. Friday, city police said.

City police said Wesley Cherry, 69, of Uniontown and formerly of Smock, was cited with public drunkenness for allegedly riding a bicycle in the area of North Gallatin Avenue while under the influence of alcohol at 11:43 p.m. Friday.

Alexis Spiker, 24, of Uniontown was cited for disorderly conduct after she allegedly caused a public disturbance by yelling outside around 3:15 a.m. Friday, city police said.

City police said Tiffany Ashworth and Eric Jeffries, both of Uniontown, were each cited with disorderly conduct for allegedly loitering at the A-Plus service station on Morgantown Street at 7:17 p.m. Friday.

City police said K-9 Brutus assisted with two calls on Farragut Street around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said the canine was also used for a narcotic search at a Shady Lane residence at 10:25 a.m. Saturday.

Joshua Smith, 24, of Uniontown was cited for driving under the influence following a traffic stop on North Gallatin Avenue at 1:17 a.m. Sunday, city police said.
