Wallace R. Thieler
Wallace R. Thieler, age 81, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at his home. He was born February 25, 1926, in Smiley, Pa., the son of Jacob Thieler and Bertha Zelmore Thieler.
He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Mount Joy Church of The Brethren in Mount Pleasant and the Pleasant Valley Grange.
He retired from Brown Boveri Power, Greensburg, Pa., where he was a welder.
Mr. Thieler was an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 175 Ruffsdale for many years.
He loved to spend time outside gardening and planting raspberry bushes and trees.
He is survived by two sons: Dale Thieler and his wife, Robin, of Farmington, Pa., and Dean Thieler and his wife, Tess, of Norvelt, Pa.; and two daughters: Diana Wielock and her husband, John, of Tarrs, Pa., and Dolly Thieler of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; five grandchildren: Amanda Thieler, Shania Thieler, Stacey Livengood, T. J. Mullen and Andy Mullen; two brothers: Wilbert Thieler of Scottdale, Pa., and Albert Thieler of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Audrey Thieler Booher of Mount Pleasant.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL SERVICE INC., 730 West Main Street, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666 (724-547-2122) where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 21, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Peachey officiating.
