Joseph F. Andrews, Jr., 88, of Masontown, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on January 2, 1919, in Masontown, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Boycheck) Andrews.

After serving his country in the Army in World War II, Joseph worked as a coal miner at Duquesne Light Warwick Mine for 12 years. Michael was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church of Masontown, UMWA 6310, American Legion Post 432, VFW Post 4584 and the Holy Name Society.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Madgelene (Stump) Andrews; sons: David Stephen Andrews and wife, Vicki of Riverside, California, and Joseph F. Andrews III of Rockville, Maryland; grandsons: Mark and Matthew Andrews; and granddaughter, Misty Andrews; sisters: Dorothy Andrews Scott of Bethel Park, Pa., and Alma Shalvarjian of Cupertino, California.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 10 a.m., in the Saint Agnes Cemetery Chapel, Masontown with Father John Butler officiating.

Military Rites will be accorded at the Graveside by the Masontown VFW and American Legion.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR., FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Church and River Avenue, Masontown.
