Fayette candidates withdraw
Four Fayette County township supervisor candidates and one borough council candidate seeking two separate terms have withdrawn their names from the May 15 municipal primary ballot, according to the Fayette County Election Bureau. Among the township supervisor candidates who withdrew were two Democratic Georges Township supervisor candidates, James H. Abraham and Scott Cooley. The withdrawals leave two Democratic candidates on the ballot for Georges Township supervisor, Mark “Moose” Migyanko and Sam J. Marano Jr.
South Union Township supervisor Democratic candidate William O. Arnold also withdrew. Arnold’s withdrawal leaves only Thomas Frank-houser on the ballot for the position.
Redstone Township supervisor Democratic candidate Michael T. Cetera also withdrew his name from consideration. Cetera’s withdrawal leaves two candidates for Redstone Township supervisor, Ralph Rice and Dan Yocabet.
Frank Masney Jr., who was listed on the ballot for both four-year and two-years terms on Perryopolis Borough Council, also withdrew his name from the ballot. Thomas E. Kmetz and Leonard Lynch will still remain on the ballot for the three four-year terms up for election for Perryopolis Borough Council and Thomas E. Kmetz will still remain on ballot for the one two-year term on Perryopolis Borough Council.
The deadline to withdraw was Wednesday.
