Dorothy Barbara Garcher Warchol, age 84, of Flatwoods, Pa., passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 24, 2007, in the Jefferson Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born October 8, 1922, in Smock, Pa., the daughter of John Garcher and Sophia Oleyar Garcher.

Dorothy was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and The Saint Joseph’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

She was formerly employed in the office at the Continental location of The Union Supply Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Sophia Garcher Rollence and Elizabeth Garcher Sabolcik, and her brother, John Garcher.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Joseph Andrew Warchol, whom she married on October 28, 1950; her loving and devoted children: Joyce Ann Cassel and her husband, William, of Dickerson Run, Pa., Cheryl Jean Usher and her husband, Thomas, of Perryopolis, Pa., Rosemary Thomas and her husband, Gary, of Flatwoods, Nancy Sebeck and her husband, Joseph, of Grindstone, Pa., Janet Guthrie and her husband, Roger, of Flatwoods and Joseph Andrew Warchol Jr. at home; her grandchildren, whom she adored: Amy Lewis and her husband, Ben, Beth Victor, Tami Mrosko and her husband, James, Bryan Usher and his wife, Erica, Krista Usher, Scott Usher, Kim Wystepek and her husband, Mike, Gary Thomas, Angie Thomas, Joey Sebeck, Jeffrey Sebeck, Janay Sebeck, Ryan Guthrie, Jason Guthrie and Jill Guthrie; and her great-granddaughter, who was her pride and joy, Abigail Rose Wystepek. She is also survived by her sisters and brother: Marcella Dvorchak of Upper Middletown, Pa., Joseph Garcher and his wife, Lena, of Smock, Ethel Zimcosky of Smock and Patricia Kilgore and her husband, Ronald, of Smock; several loving nieces and nephews and other relatives; friends and neighbors.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, March 27, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 28, 2007, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery.

Today (Tuesday, March 27, 2007) Saint Joseph Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m. in the Funeral Home and The Parish Family Vigil Service by The Ministry of Consolation will follow at 3:15 p.m.

Visitation was also held Monday, March 26, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m.
