Joanne Marie Dorobish
Joanne Marie Dorobish, age 50, of Phillips, Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 24, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born May 25, 1956, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Peter Dorobish and the late Mary (Capranica) Dorobish.
Joanne was a member of Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, Pa.
Born with Down Syndrome, Joanne, an angel sent by God, was very loving and giving and always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved people and enjoyed coloring and making latch hook pillows and rugs.
Her presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Joanne was very proud of her diploma, which she received in 1977 from the old Dunbar Borough School in Dunbar, Pa. Her favorite teacher, Mabel Shaner, was also a special person in her life.
In addition to her father, whom she loved very much, left to cherish her happy memories are her sister and caregiver, Gerry, her sister, Linda and her husband, Patsy Zungri, who were always there to help, and her devoted nephews, Sam Zungri and his wife, Tracy, and their children, great-nephew Nicholas and great-niece Samantha, of Columbus, Ohio, Patsy Zungri of Uniontown, Pa., and Paul Zungri and his girlfriend, Stefanie Fisher, of Uniontown.
Also surviving are her special caregivers, whom she loved and cherished: Mary Descaro, Frances Chaney and Deb Hough; her very dearest friend and “guardian angel”, Debbie Mihalko; and her dear First Holy Communion friend, Charlene (Mochinsky) Galluzzo.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday morning, March 28, 2007, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
Funeral Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, with the Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
Parastas will be held in the Funeral Home this afternoon at 3 p.m.
Visitation was also held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
