Upper Tyrone crash injures two

UPPER TYRONE TWP. – Two people were injured Monday night when the car they were traveling in crashed on Route 119 near the intersection with McClure Road in Upper Tyrone Township.

According to Fayette County 911, the injured motorists were initially entrapped in the car but were extracted by volunteer firefighters and then flown by medical helicopters to area hospitals.

Their identities were not known, and updates on their conditions were not immediately available.

Fayette County 911 dispatchers said volunteer firefighters from Everson, Bullskin Township and Dawson joined emergency personnel from the state police, Mutual Aid EMS and Fayette EMS at the 9:33 p.m. crash.
