Charles Westley ‘Huck’ Brownfield
Charles Westley ‘Huck’ Brownfield, a resident of Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, and formerly of Jane Lew, W.Va., passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007. He was born May 22, 1916, in Glendale, Pa., son of the late James Russell Stanford and Phoebie Ellen Brady Brownfield.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Marguerite Foster Brownfield, five sisters and one brother.
Huck was a mine foreman for 30 years and a laborer for 13 years, having worked at Maxwell, Gates, Shoaf, and Robena Complex mines. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Lakeland, Fla.
He is survived by three sisters: Mary Durda of Ohio, Hazel Marie Camino of Brownsville, Pa., and Garnet (Dollie) Brownfield of Uniontown, Pa.; five brothers: Russell Stanford Brownfield of Pittsburgh, Pa., Harry Brownfield, George Brownfield, and Robert Brownfield all of Ohio, and Homer Brownfield of McClellandtown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received in the Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, W.Va., on Wednesday and Thursday.
Friends will be received in the H. DAVID MCELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 MAIN STREET, MCCLELLANDTOWN, on Friday, March 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, March 31, until 10 a.m., the hour of the service. Pastor David McElroy of East Liberty Presbyterian Church, Vanderbilt will officiate.
Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
