She was born January 16, 1930, in Haydentown, Pa., daughter of the late Walter Hughes Wilson, Sr. and Doris Elizabeth Baker Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence E. Lewis; brothers: Daniel “Danny” Wilson and James “Jimmy” Wilson and sisters: Wilma Gail Wilson Patterson, Betty L. Wilson Brady, Ruth Wilson Bart, Lavetta Wilson Almond and Anna Wilson Null.
Leona was a waitress and a cook for many years at Pete’s Restaurant, Paradise Restaurant, Dom’s Restaurant and Mid-Town Cafe in Uniontown, Pa.
Surviving are her two children, Lawrence Edward Lewis, Jr., “Sambo” and wife Sue Ann Lewis of Smithfield, Pa. and Sandra Lewis Habrat and husband Walter Habrat of Severn, Maryland; five grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Lewis, Mt. Pleasant, Pa., Crystal Gail Lewis Barnhart and David Barnhart, Fairchance, Pa., Tommy Habrat, Ronnie Habrat and wife Michelle and Patty Habrat and fiancé Rick, all of Maryland, Pa.; great grandchildren: Brandon and Christian Habrat and special great granddaughter, whom Nana was to her, Kylee Ann Barnhart. Also surviving are two brothers: Walter “Sonny” Wilson, Jr. and wife Darlene and John “Jaye” Wilson and wife, Mert, both of Uniontown, Pa., sister, Jackie Wilson Clingan and husband Doug, Uniontown, Pa.: sisters-in-law, Judy Wilson, Uniontown, Pa., and Mary Ann Wilson, Republic, Pa.; brother-in-law, Bobby Brady, Uniontown, Pa., 15 nieces, 12 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 3, 2007, until 10 a.m. the hour of service with Pastor Ken Wall officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
