Uniontown man shot in Redstone Township

A Uniontown man is hospitalized in fair condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., after he was shot in the face early Tuesday. According to state police at Belle Vernon, Edgar Martin Fazenbaker, 50, was in his vehicle, which was parked on a pull-off along Davidson Siding Road in Redstone Township around 1:55 a.m. when the shooting occurred.

Police said an unknown person approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and fired several shots from a rifle, one of which struck Fazenbaker in the face. Fazenbaker fled from the scene in his vehicle and drove to the Sheetz store at the intersection of Route 40 and New Salem Road.

According to Fayette County 9-1-1, American Ambulance was dispatched to the Sheetz store and Fazenbaker was taken to the Uniontown Hospital helipad and flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Stat MedEvac helicopter.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
