Chancellor presented plaque

1 min read

The Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commission Inc. (FCDAC) on Wednesday presented Dr. Emmanuel Osagie, chancellor of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, with a plaque in recognition of a flowerbed at the school. According to FCDAC spokesman Joseph Augustine, the flowerbed contains 100 tulips that will produce large red flowers and will serve as a reminder to support drug-free communities. The awareness garden, which is located on campus, will be part of the annual National Red Ribbon Week, according Augustine. Red Ribbon Week is considered one of the most well-known drug prevention events in the country, and Augustine said FCDAC hopes the flowers will represent a “new beginning” to help “plant the promise” to stay drug-free.
