Tickets available for day at Idlewild
Free tickets for children’s day at Idlewild, to be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, are available at the offices of Rep. Jess Stairs (R-Acme), who is hosting the event. Tickets are necessary for children and adults to enter the event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event tickets are limited and given on a first-come, first-served basis to residents of the 59th Legislative District.

“Last year’s event was a great success and a very festive celebration of spring,” said Stairs. “We were happy to work with Idlewild to provide a fun and interactive educational experience for children and adults.”
Idelwild’s Story Book Forest and Jumpin’ Jungle will be open. In addition, many exhibitors will be present to provide valuable information and activities for children and their families. Some of the organizations and agencies expected to attend include: Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Westmoreland Human Opportunities, St. Vincent College Prevention Project, Westmoreland County 4-H, local fire departments and emergency services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Idlewild Park is located along Route 30 in Ligonier.
Tickets are available to families with children living in the 59th Legislative District, which is comprised of part of Bullskin Township (Districts 02 and 03) and all of Saltlick Township in Fayette County and the townships of Cook, Donegal, Fairfield, Hempfield (part, districts: Eastview, Foxhill, Maplewood, Todd, University, Weavers Old Stand and West Point), Ligonier, Mount Pleasant (part, districts: Duncan, Hecla, Laurel Run, Mammoth, Pleasant Valley, Ridgeview, Spring Garden, United and Westmoreland Homestead), St. Clair and Unity (part, districts: Beatty, Dennison, Marguerite, Mutual, Pleasant Unity and Roble); and the boroughs of Boliver, Donegal, Laurel Mountain, Ligonier, New Florence and Seward in Westmoreland County.
