Commission seeking comments on plans
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) is seeking public comments on the draft public participation plan that describes the various objectives, strategies and tools to engage the public and encourage participation in the development of transportation plans and programs. Public comment will be accepted as part of upcoming public meetings.
Area meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in the second-floor conference room of the Greene County Office Building, 93 E. High Street, Waynesburg; at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, in the conference room of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, 65 W. Main St., Uniontown; and at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in Room 104 Courthouse Square, 100 W. Beau St., Washington.
The SPC is the region’s forum for collaboration, planning and public decision-making.
As the designated metropolitan planning organization for the 10-county region, including the city of Pittsburgh and Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties, SPC is responsible for planning and prioritizing the use of all state and federal transportation funds allocated to the region.
