Mt. Pleasant man severely injured in one-car crash
A Mount Pleasant man was severely injured early Saturday when the car he was driving hit two trees along Route 982 in Bullskin Township. State police said that Robert Lee Sanner, 33, was heading north along Route 982 when his car went into the southbound lane and off the road. Police said Sanner’s car, a 1999 Pontiac Sedan, went into a grassy area and sideswiped a tree on the driver’s side. The car spun and hit a second tree on the passenger’s side, police said.
Police said the accident, just south of Prittstown Road, occurred around 1:45 a.m., and authorities noted that Sanner was not wearing a seatbelt and multiple airbags in the vehicle deployed.
Sanner was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, police said. A hospital spokeswoman declined to release any information about Sanner’s condition.
Police said Bullskin Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
