By The 1 min read

DUNBAR – More than 75 volunteers braved a cold Saturday morning last week to clean up a longtime dumpsite in Fayette County. Carl D. Williams of PA CleanWays of Fayette County said the group – comprised of volunteers from the state Game Commission, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Wal-Mart, PA CleanWays and others – worked throughout the day and removed 21 tons of trash from the dump, located on state game lands in Dunbar.

Additionally, Williams said the group removed 63 tires from the area and added that state officials planted hundreds of seedlings.

A second team of volunteers from the Dunbar Sportsman’s Club, Trout Unlimited, the Boy Scouts and the state Fish and Game Commission cleaned up a two-mile section of road near the dumpsite.
