Man arrested
State police arrested Jacob John Hooper, 25, of Uniontown and charged him with terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened an unidentified 16-year-old boy with a knife outside the Bon Ton entrance of the Uniontown Mall at 6:15 p.m. Friday. Police said when they responded to the scene, Hooper had a knife with a 10 1/2-inch blade and had allegedly made a threatening comment to the boy. Hooper was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $7,500 straight bond.

Garage fire
City firefighters responded to a garage fire on Stewart Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Sunday. Fire Chief Myron Nypaver said the 40-by-100 foot commercial garage was well involved when crews arrived on scene. According to Nypaver, a local furnace company used the garage for storage.
No one was injured in the blaze. Nypaver said the fire damaged the siding and windows of a house next to the garage, but said firefighters were able to contain the blaze and save the house from any structural damage. Crews were on scene until 7:52 p.m.
Nypaver said the fire is under investigation by city and state police.

Man wanted
State police are looking for a 37-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her with a baseball bat Friday afternoon.
Police said an arrest warrant has been issued for Milton Thomas Moser of Lake Lynn. According to police, Moser allegedly hit Shannon Lynn Garcia, 30, of Lake Lynn in the back and face and grabbed her around the throat during an altercation that occurred at a 172 Hope Hollow Road residence at 1:46 p.m. Moser allegedly threatened Garcia with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene, police said, noting that he may have been carrying a .40-caliber handgun.
Anyone with information about Moser’s whereabouts is asked to call the state police barracks in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.

Man cited
State police said Matthew Angelone of Isabella was cited for harassment after he allegedly made obscene comments to a juvenile at a Second Street residence around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Charges pending
State police said charges are pending against a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old Dunbar man allegedly caught trying to steal catalytic converters from vehicles at Murphy Auto Wreckers at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Both males could be charged with criminal attempt and theft by unlawful taking, police said.

Ella Illar, 88, of Daisytown told police an unknown person entered her residence and stole $300 from her wallet between 2 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Friday, state police reported.

State police said Michael Vance of New Salem was cited for harassment after he allegedly punched Constance Armel, Jeremy Carr and Christina McGraw, all of Fairbank, during an altercation in the parking lot of an establishment at 1 a.m. Saturday.

State police said copper and various tools were stolen from a 2081 Second St. residence owned by Jerry Gagnon, 42, of Brownsville between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Friday.

City police said officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Pershing Court at 1:01 a.m. Saturday.

Kevin Oros of Uniontown told police a Sponge Bob Square Pants table and chair set was stolen from the front porch of his 322 Evans St. residence sometime Friday night, city police reported.

City police said Steven A. Friend, 19, of Uniontown was cited for harassment after he allegedly grabbed Regina Campbell of Uniontown around 2:45 p.m. Saturday by pulling her hair.

City police said Jeffrey D. Kennedy of Uniontown was cited for public drunkenness and taken to his 569 Johnston Ave. residence after officers received reports of an intoxicated man on Robinson Street at 7:33 p.m. Saturday.

City police said Alfonso Pugh of Uniontown was placed in Fayette County Prison following a disturbance in Pershing Court at 12:09 a.m. Sunday. Police said Pugh was charged with criminal trespass, public drunkenness, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Georgetta Garcia of Smithfield told police her vehicle was egged while parked at 361 Top St. between 8 a.m. April 30 and 3 p.m. Friday, state police reported.

State police said assorted barrels of copper, metal and transmission were stolen from the D’Andrea Brothers Auto Salvage, located at 42 Atlas Road, sometime Wednesday or Thursday.

Hood stolen
Steve Stremp of Melcroft told police the hood of his 1995 Dodge truck was stolen between 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday while the truck was parked in the driveway of his 1691 Indian Creek Road residence, state police reported, noting that the hood is valued at $700.

Hit-and-run
State police said vehicle driven by Shauntai Hall of Masontown, Edgar Liniger of Hopwood and an unidentified driver crashed on Route 21, also known as McClellandtown Road, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said a white male driving a dark-colored vehicle fled the scene following the crash.

Woman jailed
State police said Nikia Burncheck, 47, of Uniontown was placed in Fayette County Prison after failing to post a $500 straight cash bond after she allegedly assaulted Nicholas Burncheck, 52, of Uniontown at a 262 Mount View Road residence at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said Nikia Burncheck was charged with simple assault.
