Meeting planned Brownsville Township will hold a public meeting concerning Redstone Cemetery at 6 p.m. Friday. The meeting will be held at the Brownsville Fire Co. No. 1, located at 520 Market St., Brownsville.
Water work set
Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will be shutting off water this week to upgrade the system.
Water will be shut off from 8 a.m. until about 2 p.m. Wednesday on Polk and Poster lanes in Luzerne Township. There will be no water service from 8 a.m. until around 4 p.m. Thursday for customers in the following areas: Bull Run Road, Craftmore Road, Rocky Run Road, Creek Road and in Superior, Luzerne Township.
The authority said customers may experience low pressure or no water and advises them to keep containers of water on hand.
Historical society to meet
The Connellsville Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Connellsville Cultural Trust building – the former Conn Area Catholic Parish Center, located at 114 N. Prospect Street.
Guest speakers for the event will be Brian Reedy, Fort Necessity park ranger, who will discuss artillery used during the French and Indian War, and Fayette County commissioner candidate Vincent Zapotosky.
Society president Karen Hechler said that the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
