Man injured in biking accident
A West Virginia bicyclist is in a West Virginia hospital in stable condition after he swerved into the path of an oncoming car early Sunday in Greene County, according to state police in Waynesburg. Police said Michael Keane, 58, of Junior Avenue in Morgantown was one of a group of bicyclists traveling along Route 19 in Perry Township, at the state line between West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Police said the group of bicyclists was heading north when Steve Cool, 60, of Maidsville, W.Va., was waved around the group in his vehicle.
Police said that as Cool “approached the middle of the pack (Keane) swerved into his path.” Keane landed on the hood of Cool’s vehicle and was thrown off the hood as Cool stopped, police indicated. Keane is hospitalized in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
