Conviction affirmed

By The 1 min read

The state Superior Court affirmed the conviction and sentence of a 32-year-old Waynesburg woman who videotaped herself engaged in sex acts with an 11-year-old girl. Heidi Harbarger was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse of children and one count of corruption of minors and was sentenced to 18 to 36 months in prison in 2006.

She appealed the conviction claiming that there were numerous errors made during her 2005 trial. The court, through an opinion handed down this week, concluded that there was no reversible error in the trial.

In 2004, Harbarger was charged after she videotaped herself and an 11-year-old New Freeport girl in a sexual manner. The tape was made in 2001.

Police obtained the video from the Greene County Children and Youth Services. It was anonymously sent to that office. The video was shot in Clarksville, Jefferson Township.
