Sheriff gives report

In April, Fayette County Sheriff Gary D. Brownfield received 474 requests for service. Among those services were 128 complaints and summons, 27 landlord and tenants/order for possessions, 36 protection-from-abuse orders, 33 mortgage foreclosure complaints, 24 foreign writ services, 26 personal property executions, two writs of possession, four real estates sales, services or postings and four miscellaneous service requests.

Additionally, requests for 190 gun permits, both new and renewals, were processed and three bench warrants were served.

A total of 60 prisoners were transported 4,532 miles during the month.

Members of the sheriff’s office logged 160 hours at each the courthouse and the public safety building providing security.

An additional 52 hours used for miscellaneous security and 60 hours was used for community relations programs.

Brownfield listed $21,038.08 in funds forwarded to the county for the month and $9,365.85 in funds for services not reimbursed to the county.
