Fayette City man sentenced for embezzlement

According to United States Attorney Mary Buchanan, Stephen A. Kostelac, 51, of Fayette City, was sentenced in federal court Wednesday after being convicted of embezzlement. Kostelac was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of home detention. He must also pay restitution in the amount of $23,304.38.

Kostelac was found to have embezzled more than $26,000 from union dues while serving as the secretary/treasurer of the Boilermakers Local Lodge 906 of the AFL-CIO, located in Donora. It was proven in court that Kostelac embezzled the money between January 2000 and June 2002.
