Fayette County man charged in robbery

By Josh Krysak 2 min read

A Fayette County man was charged with robbery and aggravated assault after he threatened and robbed a Uniontown woman with a knife Thursday morning. William Robert Oleksik, 24, who told police he is homeless, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis with robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and theft by unlawful taking after he allegedly robbed Holly Dawn Everly.

State police trooper George Mrosko said the incident began when Oleksik, who is Everly’s ex-boyfriend, came to her home on North Gallatin Avenue in North Union Township and asked her for a ride around 9:50 a.m.

Mrosko said Everly consented but after they started to drive toward Uniontown, he began to demand money.

Mrosko said after Everly refused, Oleksik pulled a knife and allegedly told Everly he would “cut her pretty, little face.”

Police said Everly then gave Oleksik $5 in change and dropped him off in Pershing Court. She then called police.

About 10 minutes later, troopers found Oleksik walking on Searights Avenue in Uniontown and took him into custody without incident.

He was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bond.

This is not the first time Oleksik has been in trouble with the law.

He pleaded guilty to retail theft and receiving stolen property in January on charges stemming from an investigation by Uniontown police in 2006, Fayette County Court records indicate.

He was sentenced last month to two years probation, records revealed.
