Luzerne Twp. Vehicle struck

Barbara Brown of Hiller told police her vehicle was struck by a rock thrown from a passing vehicle while traveling on Craftmore Road at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, state police reported.

Man charged

State police said Dexter Smith of Uniontown was charged with simple assault after he allegedly hit Jennifer Berisko of Uniontown during an altercation at a Dunlap Street residence at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Brownsville

Vehicle recovered

State police said a vehicle belonging to David K. Elliott, 37, of Brownsville was found parked on Angle Street about 20 minutes after it had allegedly been stolen.

Police said Elliott had left the car running unattended when it was stolen.

Metal, boat stolen

David M. Miller, 20, of McClellandtown was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole approximately 600 pounds of scrap iron and a 14-foot aluminum boat belonging to Richard Lee Matthews, 46, of McClellandtown, state police said, noting the items were stolen from Matthews’ yard.

Rifle stolen

State police said a .45-caliber semi-automatic rifle belonging to Margaret Trump of 1509 Springfield Pike was stolen from Trump’s residence between Saturday and Wednesday.

Woman injured

State police said Heather Bolish, 29, of Dunbar suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Hardy Hill Road at 5 a.m. Monday.

North Union Twp.

Man arrested

Chad Mills of Uniontown was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop at the intersection of Bute Road and Filmore Street at 1:40 a.m. Monday, state police said.

Phone stolen

Krystal Syed of Uniontown told police her cell phone was stolen from her unattended purse while at Oliver Park between 12:30 and 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, state police reported.

Belle Vernon

Money stolen

Southwest Regional police said Tina L. Tatsch of Belle Vernon reported her bankcard was stolen between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday and $772 was removed from her account.

North Union Twp.

Gasoline stolen

State police said $30.50 worth of gasoline was stolen from J&G Food Mart on Route 51 at 11:26 a.m. Saturday.

Brownsville

Traffic stop

Brownsville police Wednesday cited Travis Keefer, 20, of Hiller for driving a vehicle with an expired inspection and registration and lack of insurance. In the course of the stop, police also discovered outstanding summary warrants for Keefer.

The traffic stop was made at 2:43 p.m. on High Street. Keefer was taken to Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino’s office and then to Magisterial District Judge Randy Abraham’s office regarding the outstanding warrants.

Items stolen

Krystal Maiolo of Leckrone told police her house was robbed between 7 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, state police reported, noting that several items were stolen.

North Union Twp.

Charges pending

State police said driving under the influence and drug-related charges will be filed against a 23-year-old West Leisenring man.

Police said the man was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 51 at 1:35 a.m. Thursday.

Centerville

Man charged

Kevin Glagola, 43, of Centerville was charged with harassment after he allegedly hit Charles Kerns, 47, of Daisytown in the face during an altercation that occurred outside an establishment at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, state police said.

Bullskin Twp.

Car/greenhouse fire

An unidentified woman was transported by helicopter late Wednesday to a Pittsburgh hospital after she allegedly drove into a ditch along Mount Zion Road causing the gas tank to catch fire near a greenhouse also setting it ablaze.

Crews from Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Co. were dispatched to the scene about 11:15 p.m. along with Mount Pleasant EMS/Medic 10.

According to Joe Liska, fire chief, a passer-by pulled the woman from the vehicle. The driver suffered burns to her legs.

Liska said firefighters remained at the scene for an hour-and-a-half.

No further information on the woman’s identity or extent of her injuries was available.

Wharton Twp.

Vehicles crash

State police said no one was injured when vehicles driven by Seth A. Merschat and Brenda Mitchell, both of Markleysburg, and Angel B. Fox of Morgantown, W.Va., crashed on Route 40 near Smith School Road at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday.
