1 min read

PITTSBURGH – Pressley Ridge will host a dinner to celebrate its 175th anniversary on Tuesday at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh. Pressley Ridge provides an array of services to troubled and developmentally challenged children while helping these children remain close to their families and communities.

A nonprofit organization founded in Pittsburgh in 1832, Pressley Ridge offers programs in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, Texas and the District of Columbia.

In Pennsylvania, Pressley Ridge serves more than 900 children and families each day, providing treatment foster care and community-based, residential and educational services in Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Washington and Greene counties.

Dinner, with reservations now closed to the public, will follow with reminiscences from former board members led by the co-chairwomen Emily Jarrett and her daughter, Marguerite Jarrett Marks.

Among the honored guests will be present and former members of the Pressley Ridge board of directors and Lillian Fisher, whose family recently presented the organization with a $1 million gift in honor of its 175th anniversary, and others who have been generous to Pressley Ridge over the years, including philanthropists Henry and Elsie Hillman.
