Leslie Stefan and Jesse Bates II were united in marriage on Oct. 21 at the Union Chapel Church, Flatrock Road, Markleysburg. The Rev. David Herring officiated the ceremony. The bride’s parents are Daniel Stefan Jr. of Smithfield and the late Carolyn Wise Stefan. The bridegroom’s parents are Jesse and Susan Bates of Bates Road, Markleysburg.

Given in marriage by her uncle, Gary Bowles of Narrows, Va., the bride wore a white Italian matte satin A-line gown with beaded spaghetti straps and bodice, semi-cathedral train and hemline embellished with beads and sequins. A princess tiara held a veil of illusion.

Amy Wolfe, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Dana Custer, Wendy Burd, Erica Cupp, Lisa Jones and Leslie Casarino. Flower girl was Rachel Wolfe, niece of the bride and groom.

Best man was Justin Bates, brother of the bridegroom. Ushers were Danny Wolfe, Chris Burd, Wayne Dennis, Mark Jones and Craig Miller. Jesse and Austin Bates, sons of the bride and groom, were ring bearers.

A reception was held at the Bruceton Mills Fire Hall, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Uniontown Area High School. She is employed with Spade Bus Lines and self-employed by J&L Wood Processing.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Uniontown Area High School and is employed at Bates Tire and Auto Salvage and also self-employed at J&L Wood Processing.

The couple is planning a wedding hunting trip to Colorado.

They are living at 603 Flatrock Road, Markleysburg.
