Bruno G. Shemansky Jr., 72, of Daisytown, Pa., died at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007, unexpectedly in his… Bruno G. Shemansky Jr., 72, of Daisytown, Pa., died at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007, unexpectedly in his home.
He was born November 19, 1934, in California, Pa., a son of the late Bruno and Anna Malinsky Shemanski.
Mr. Shemansky was a veteran having served in the United States Army as Sergeant during the Korean War as a tank operator. He retired in 1992 after 39½years of service from United States Steel, Irwin Works as a locomotive Crane Operator. He was a longtime member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Daisytown, Pa., and enjoyed hunting and gardening and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his wife, Sara M. (Sally) Shemansky, who died June 3, 2005, one brother, Martin Shemanski, and one sister, Katherine Slavik.
Surviving are two sons, Bruno C. Shemansky of Brownsville, Pa. and Michael A. Shemansky of Daisytown, Pa.; two daughters, Eleanor A. Sims of Edgewater, Florida and Susan M. Pro of Coal Center, Pa.; three sisters, Shirley McKnight of Brook Park, Ohio, Dolores Kudlac of Richeyville, Pa. and Beverly Wright of Daisytown, Pa.; one brother, George Shemanski of Daisytown, Pa.; and grand-children, Courtney E. and David M. Pro.
Friends will be received in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pa., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2007 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Richeyville, Pa. with the Rev. John Forbidussi as Celebrant.
Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, Pa.
