YOUTH TECHNOLOGY CENTER OPEN HOUSE will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Gazalie building (former borough building) at the corner of Market Street and Albany Road in Brownsville. This is a BARC Project in partnership with Communities in Schools. Youth Technology Center funding was made possible by the Workforce Investment Board of Fayette and Westmoreland Counties. Light refreshments will be available. Those attending may meet the instructors and view the facility. Refurbished computer will be available at a reasonable cost. LITTLE REDSTONE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Redstone Church Road, Fayette City, will hold a spring bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be soup, sandwiches, baked goods, crafts and flea market items.
UNITED MINE WORKERS OF AMERICA Local 1248 will hold a regular union meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the district office.
BROWNSVILLE APOSTOLIC GOSPEL CHURCH will hold its semi-annual charity bazaar at Uniontown Mall Friday and Saturday. Featured items will include homemade specialty baked goods, including nut rolls, various cookies, fudge, assorted breads and pies along with various flea market items.
ST. NICHOLAS BYZANTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Perryopolis, will hold a soup and sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. Sponsored by the Ladies Altar Society, proceeds will benefit the church renovation fund. Soups will include clam chowder, beef vegetable/dumpling, ham/barley and a surprise soup. Sandwiches will include turkey, roast beef, ham and chicken salad with either American or provolone cheese. A variety of desserts and a beverage will be included. Cost is $6. Future events will feature a spaghetti dinner in July and a chicken bar-be-que and flea market in September.
