Election briefs
North Union Incumbent North Union Township Supervisor Robert Tupta won the Democratic nomination for a second six-year term in a landslide victory over two challengers in Tuesday’s primary.
Tupta received 1,214 votes, while Larry Russman received 452 and Mark H. Landman received 132, according to unofficial results.
Because no Republican candidates entered the race, Tupta will almost certainly win his second term in the November general election.
Wharton Township
Incumbent Wharton Township Supervisor John Jack Lewis was unopposed in his bid to win the Democratic nomination for another term in Tuesday’s primary.
Lewis received 305 votes, according to unofficial results. No Republican candidates entered the race.
