South Union blaze quickly contained

A house on Brownfield Road sustained heavy smoke and water damage after fire broke out at the residence at 5:42 a.m. Thursday in South Union Township. According to Fayette County 911, the fire began in the living room, but firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze. No one was injured, officials said. Volunteer firefighters from North Union Township, Hopwood and Farmington, along with firefighters from Uniontown and emergency personnel from Uniontown Fireman’s Ambulance, responded to the scene.
