Edna P. “Peggy” Lyons Jenkins, 91, of Richeyville, Pa., died Thursday, May 17, 2007, with her family by her side… Edna P. “Peggy” Lyons Jenkins, 91, of Richeyville, Pa., died Thursday, May 17, 2007, with her family by her side in the Mon Valley Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born July 1, 1915, in Lake Lynn, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Emmett and Martha (Spiker) Lyons.
Mrs. Jenkins graduated from the now former Point Marion (Pa.) High School, class of 1933, and was a member of the Garwood Baptist Church. She was a homemaker her entire life.
On July 3, 1938, Edna married Henry W. Jenkins. He died September 27, 1997.
Also deceased are her parents, three brothers, Clarence Lyons, Bernard Lyons and Morgan Lyons, and three sisters, Margaret Sethman, Bessie Townsend and Kathryn Christopher.Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Ellen R. Ford and her husband, Lloyd, of Richeyville and Karen Keys and her husband, Richard, of Centerville; two sisters: Rose Haught and Dorothy Miller; four grandchildren: Mark S. Ford and his wife, Brenda, Scott Henry Ford and his wife, Kathe, Richard D. Keys and his wife, Heather, and Kristen Kalamaras and her husband, Dan; seven great-grandchildren: Mark S. Ford II, Alyssa Ford, Jacob Henry Ford, Hannah Ford, Abigail Ford, Dexter Sarkett, Nathan Kalamaras, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of her eighth great-grandchild, Karson Keys.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, (Route 40), Beallsville, Pa., where Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Cliff Reynolds and Dr. Allen B. Lee co-officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery, Dawson, Pa.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Garwood Baptist Church, 496 South Ridge Road, Coal Center, PA 15419.
