Road detour scheduled

1 min read

The state Department of Transportation District 12 said that as part of the continuing improvements to the Interstate 70/79 South Junction near Washington, the Phase III nighttime detour will go into effect on Tuesday, May 29. The Phase III nighttime detour affects I-79 northbound to I-70 westbound. The current restrictions – I-70 westbound to I-79 southbound – will be removed Tuesday, which is two days earlier than expected.

For the Phase III nighttime detour for I-79 northbound to I-70 westbound, I-79 northbound will exit onto I-70 eastbound at the I-70/79 South Junction, follow I-70 eastbound to the Eighty Four interchange/Route 519 (Exit 25), take Route 519 north to regain entry onto I-70 westbound.

The 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. ramp closure is so that the interchange ramp can be patched.
